the keepers of the light

About Us

The Last Lighthouse is a podcast about classic literature, horror, smut and dragons, kept by a small crew of readers who refuse to go to bed. We started it because the books were too good to keep to ourselves and too weird to bring up at work.

Who's in the lighthouse

Five people, $0, no sleep schedule to speak of.

  • Keeper 01

Host · keeps the light on

Reads classics like they're gossip. Has opinions about Dickens that have ended friendships. Keeps the light on because someone has to, and because the dark asked nicely.

  • Keeper 02

    Co-host · horror correspondent

Has never once been scared by a movie but gets nervous about stairs. Reviews horror the way other people review restaurants: by what it did to their sleep.

  • Keeper 03

    Co-host · the smut desk

Runs the smut desk with the seriousness of a surgeon. Will defend a bodice-ripper to the death. Has been asked to stop reading aloud on the bus.

  • Keeper 04

    Co-host · dragon relations

Believes every story is better with a hoard in it. Currently writing a thesis nobody asked for on why the dragon is always right.

  • Keeper 05

Computer Girl · keeps the lights on, literally

Runs the website, the feeds, the mics, and whatever else beeps. If something on this page breaks, it was haunted before anyone touched it. Has turned the lighthouse off and on again more times than is reasonable.

Not on social media, too autistic (complimentary)

Listeners, guests, writers, lost sailors: get in touch. We reply faster than the thing in the attic.

About Us

The Last Lighthouse is a podcast for anything that washes up on our rocks—be they sparkling vampires, slutty dragons, or solid literature you read outside of English 101. Kept by a crew of readers who refuse to go to bed, we started it because the books were too good to keep to ourselves and too weird to bring up at work.

Dino Parenti·Co-host

Writing times and mealtimes are sacred. Will listen to Christmas music to feel cooler during a heatwave. Still suffers occasional facial injuries from falling asleep while reading hardcovers.
